Birthday celebrations

This week’s birthday celebrations started with lunch on Monday… For Jan’s special birthday… The food was divine and the company was even better…

Then on Tuesday with a few friends at sewing, my good friend Lee surprised me with a yummy cake for my birthday… Which I decided to eat two pieces…Thank you… it was yummo…

Phil and I got up bright and early Wednesday morning for a few days at Tangalooma Island… so I could feed the dolphins…

After we arrived, we first had a long walk up the beach to the wreaks… It was quite warm and when we finally got back we had a cup of tea, rested and booked into our room for another rest…

We walked to the jetty area at about 5 to feed the kookaburras… The wonderful staff there informed us of all the ins and outs of feeding kookaburras and the different types of kookaburras as well as telling us about other birdlife…

At about 6 o’clock we wandered up to the jetty where the wild dolphins come in for feeding… We lined up with the many many many people there and had our turn… feeding Cruse and Luna…

I should point out their terrible table manners as they both scoffed the fish… no please or thank you…ha ha… It was a wonderful experience, something I will treasure for very long time.

Thursday, we made a hasty retreat home… Although we were booked to stay another night… It was due to the pending weather warnings... And I might add we were in a bit of a predicament but made it home safely…

When we got home I found a parcel had arrived, was a bit upset because I thought Phil had received another parcel… But it was me… and from my good friend Sue… It was filled with charm packs, a wireframe and a beautiful little stitchery... Thank you Sue… I believe I have been more than spoil with all the gifts I have been given…

To round a week off… Friday I had booked the local hotel for a dinner… And I had invited a few close friends… Phil organised a cake and the whole night was just so perfect… especially the chocolate cake… Ha ha ha…

On the sewing front, I got to play with these beautiful fabrics “12 days of Christmas” and made a few tiny spinning stars… Wonky spinning stars for the next border… for the newly named “Christmas with Robyn” and must add that my 2 students are right behind me…so I need to get busy…

And on the home front I have been looking out for the baby water dragon that has taken up residence in our front court yard and he/she is growing nicely… but I also found this baby residing in the court yard outside our bathroom window…

Thank you for stopping by and next week I’ll blog about my new sewing project… all smiles Robyn

Your Tangalooma trip looked amazing so happy you got to feed the dolphins before the weather forced you home, but it was great you got home safely. 4. I love it when birthday celebrations last more than just the actual day. We have to tell ourselves that "we deserve it" especially as we get older - all birthdays should be treasured with friends and family.
